Rani Mukerji dances to a lavani number in Aiyya

Following Katrina Kaif who did a lavani number in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Agneepath and Vidya Balan who danced to a lavani number in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s recently released Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Rani Mukerji has picked up the cudgel and has finished shooting for a lavani number in director Sachin Kundalkar’s Aiyya. The song has been choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant. Confirming the news to Movie Chakkar, Sachin said, “Rani does three item numbers in her dream in my film Aiyya. In this film, the girl has this habit of dreaming. One of her item numbers is a lavani song that she dances again in her dream." Describing the noted actresses’ dancing capabilities, the director observed, "She was quite good with her lavani dance. She shared a great equation with Vaibhavi Merchant. She did rehearsals on the sets. It's a rapid, classical, sensuous lavani song." Co-produced by Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18, Aiyaa is a story of a woman who finds a man desirable because he smells good. Rani, who plays a Marathi girl in the film, is paired opposite Southern super hero Prithvi Raj.
