MUMBAI: Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14 after reportedly hanging himself in his Bandra house. After more than a month of the late actor's demise, his father KK Singh filed an FIR against his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty in Patna under Sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 380 (theft), 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC. Having said that, Rhea then filed a petition to the Supreme Court, requesting the transfer of the investigation from Patna to Mumbai. Now, as per a report on NDTV, the Supreme Court will hear Rhea Chakraborty's plea seeking the transfer of an FIR from Patna to Mumbai on Wednesday. Rhea's plea will be heard by Justice Hrishikesh Roy.
As per the report stated in NDTV, in her plea the Jalebi actress said that it was becoming "increasingly evident that the FIR was successfully filed in Patna only due to intervention of the Chief Minister of Bihar and other local politicians." Chakraborty has also said in her plea that, “The deceased (Rajput) was suffering from depression for some time and was also on anti-depressants and he committed suicide on the morning of June 14, 2020, at his Bandra residence by hanging himself.”
On the other hand, Nitish Kumar recently tweeted that the state government has sent its recommendation for a CBI probe into the FIR registered by the Chhichhore actor's father after they gave consent. His family, as well as his fans, is delighted as the Sushant’s case is handed over to CBI.
