MUMBAI: Anupama Pathak's death, which was earlier registered as accidental death report, has now been converted to FIR for abetment to suicide. The actress, who has worked in Bhojpuri films and TV, was found hanging at her Mumbai home on August 2. Before taking her life, the actress had gone live on Facebook, where she expressed her agony and asked people not to trust anyone.

The police had also recovered a suicide note from the actress's residence. Initially, accidental death report was filed but later it was converted to FIR. In the suicide note, the actress mentioned financial issues as one of the reasons for taking her life and had also mentioned a man named Manish Jha. She accused Jha of taking her two-wheeler in May and refusing to return it to her later. In her note, Anupama had also mentioned a company in Goregaon, where she had invested Rs 10,000 but the company wasn't returning her money.
An FIR under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of IPC has been registered against Manish Jha and the company mentioned in the suicide note.
