MUMBAI : If you enjoyed watching Kunal Roy Kapur and Atul Kulkarni in Amazon Prime Video‘s Bandish Bandits, here’s delightful news for you. The talented twosome will be back together on screen – this time in a comedy series titled Sandwich. The comedy series is being created by prolific filmmaker Rohan Sippy, and it is one of the upcoming originals in the promised slate of the newly revamped streaming platform, SonyLIV. Sandwich is a comedy series that will be centred on Kunal Roy Kapur. As per reports in the media, Sandwich will star talented actress Aahana Kumra as Kunal’s co-star.

Atul Kulkarni will play a pivotal role in the series. Well known actors Lubna Salim (Oh My God, Aam Aadmi Family) and Zakir Hussain (Chacha Vidhayak Hain Hamare, Holiday) also play crucial roles in Sandwich. There is no information from either SonyLIV, Rohan Sippy or the actors regarding the premise of the just-announced series.
SonyLIV had revealed the names of several prominent filmmakers at launch in June, who have been commissioned by the streamer to create interesting Original shows and movies for the platform. Rohan Sippy is one among the clutch of filmmakers that were part of the reveal. And now here’s concrete evidence of Rohan Sippy’s creation for SonyLIV. Salman Khan, Nikkhil Advani, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Monisha Advani, Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, Vir Das, Subhash Kapoor, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kapil Sharma, Rohan Sippy, Ajay Monga, Saurabh Tewari, are some of the other names that have been revealed by SonyLIV as creators of their revamped content slate.
SonyLIV has recently released web series, Your Honor, Avrodh The Siege Within and Undekhi, all three of which were well received by viewers. Kadhak and Bhonsle were two of its Original film releases in the last two months.
