Ace cinematographer Sudarshan Nag, who started his career with B R Ishara’s Chetna, was recently felicitated by the Western India Cinematographers’ Association (WICA). He was presented an award for his outstanding contribution to the Indian film industry.
Nag was the cinematographer of the 1985 super-hit film Ramkali starring Hema Malini and Shatrughan Sinha. He also made his directorial debut in 1984 with Asli Naqli starring Shatrughan Sinha, Rajnikanth and Anita Raj and followed it up by directing films like Insaaf Kaun Karega, Dharamyudh (1988) and Shankara (1991).
His credits also include Zehreela Insaan (1974) featuring Rishi Kapoor, Moushumi Chatterjee, Neetu Singh and Pran; Chunaoti (1980) featuring Feroz Khan, Neetu Singh and Danny Denzongpa; Shaktiman (1993) featuring Ajay Devgn and Karisma Kapoor and Maidan-E-Jung (1995) starring Dharmendra, Akshay Kumar and Karisma Kapoor.
