A press conference was organised by Colors yesterday (9 August), where the media could interact with the entire cast of the serial (post leap) Parichay produced by Balaji Telefilms. Here, we happened to meet the youngest members of the show, twin brothers Anmol and Apurva Jyotir. The press conference started with a little skit by the kids Anmol and Apurva. Samir Soni was on hand to help the media understand their characters. The lookalike twins Anmol and Apurva are incidentally named Anand in the show. However, Anmol’s character, who stays with his father, is more of an obedient child. According to Samir, who plays the father of Anmol, “My son is a mature and very understanding kid. He is such that at times he looks after me as if he is my father.” On the other hand, Apurva, brought up by Aruna Irani’s family, is a brat. In fact, he is very mischievous in real life unlike his real and reel life brother. “I am very mischievous and pampered,” he said. Playing parents post the leap is something most actors dislike doing. However, newcomer Keerti Nagpure seemed all fine with it, as she confessed, “It’s Siddhi (her on-screen name) who is these children’s mother and not Keerti. So I do not have an issue playing a mother on-screen. I know I am just 22 and don’t look like a mother to 9 year old kids, but then the audience will slowly accept it.” Well, quite a positive approach, we must say. When asked if this leap would work for Parichay, producer Ekta Kapoor quipped, “Leaps have always worked with Balaji as we always take the concept forward and not the story. Here, the concept was to show the love in the family and we will take it further with the children coming into the picture. However, whether all this will work for Parichay is something that we will have to wait and watch.” Colors’ weekday programming head Prashant Bhatt seemed very happy when he remarked, “We managed to get identical twins after a long search. Let’s see how the story goes forward from here.” Hoping the arrival of the kids in the show will see a rise in the TRPs of the show.
