Vashu Bhagnani's filmy aspirations for his son Jackky

Doting father producer Vashu Bhagnani is hell-bent on making a star out of his son Jackky. After Ajab Gazzab Love the film that Sanjay Gadhvi has almost completed with Jackky in the lead, Vashu has quickly taken his laadla beta into a second project being directed by Priyadarshan and then there is a third film too before the year is through. “By the end of 2012 hree films with Jackky will be ready,” promises Vashu.

But it’s the Priyadarshan project a remake of the 2009 Tamil hit Naadodigal which is currently a matter of contention between producer Vashu Bhagnani and director Priyadarshan. Apparently the original ensemble hit is being re-written in Hindi to spotlight Jackky’s role. Not just that, Vashu has made it clear that he wants the film to be named after his son’s character. Priyan’s remake has been titled Rang-Rez after Jackky’s character. Says a source close to the project, “In the original film Naadodigal all the three heroes are equally important. But in the Hindi version Jackky’s character has to be spotlighted. Priyan is trying to find a solution to the situation.” Reasons Vashu, “Isn’t it logical to name the film after Jackky’s character? All the other characters in the remake would be played by absolute newcomers. Jackky is the only known face. His role would definitely need to be emphasized and yes, I’ve asked Priyan to name the film after his character. I am very excited about this project because the cinematography is being done by Santosh Sivan. This is the first film I’m producing for Santosh and Priyan.” Let’s hope the two doyens of Indian cinema are happier working in this production house than Remo d’Souza was. A massive fall-out with choreographer-director Remo d’Souza during the shooting of F.A.L.T.U has prompted producer Vashu Bhagnani to zero in on his new blue-eyed director Sanjay Gadhvi to direct the sequel to the 2011 hit . Confirming this Vashu says, “We are in the process of finalizing the details. I am very happy with Sanjay Gadhvi’s work. And yes F.A.L.T.U 2 with him is being discussed. Like I said there will be three completed films with my son in the lead.” Vashu Bhagnani has made a pledge for himself. Come what may he will re-launch his son Jackky in 2012, no matter what it takes. Earlier this month Vashu and Gadhvi shot a party song for Ajab Gazzab Love in the best beachside resorts and clubs of Italy. The song choreographed by Boscoe cost the producer a whopping 3 crore rupees. “But it’s worth it. The track will be a far bigger rage than Party abhi baqi hai in F.A.L.T.U,” promises the hopeful father.
