MUMBAI: Directed by Farah Khan, ‘Om Shanti Om’ that starred Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, recently completed 13 glorious years. The film is still one of the most loved films in Bollywood. Did you know that it was the first film to get its international musical?
Yes, you read it right! ‘Om Shanti Om’ was reportedly the first film to get its international musical. The film was remade into a Japanese musical titled, ‘Oumu Shanti Oumu’. Interesting, isn’t it? The stage version of the film was premiered in Osaka in 2017.
Deepika marked her debut in Bollywood with ‘Om Shanti Om’. The film also had an ensemble star cast that included Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade, Kirron Kher, and others in key roles. Many other celebs like Rekha and Salman Khan made special appearances in the film for different dance sequences.

It also gave some chartbuster songs. The film received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.
After ‘Om Shanti Om’, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone went on to co-star in two more films. In 2013, they co-starred in ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Happy New Year’. The actors will be reuniting once again for Siddharth Anand’s ‘Pathan’.
