MUMBAI: The year 2020 may have been rough on many of us but for Alekhya Harika, it was the year when everything worked out just the way she wanted to. The popular YouTuber and social media sensation made a splash on Bigg Boss Telugu Season 4 and finished in the top 5. Having impressed host Nagarjuna and won over thousands of fans, Alekhya is looking forward to more work in 2021.
“Last year was wonderful for me personally. I featured in a web series and then I got the opportunity to be a part of Bigg Boss. It was an incredible journey. To share the stage with legends like Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi and Kamal Haasan on the show was a dream come true,” said Alekhya.

“I’ve already started the year on a positive note. Having just gotten out of the Bigg Boss house, I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see many offers come my way. My ultimate goal has always been to act in movies and I look forward to doing that this year,” she says.
Interestingly, during Bigg Boss, Alekhya was romantically linked with the show’s winner Abijeet Duddala. However, Abijeet stunned everyone when he referred to Alekhya as his ‘sister’ on the show. The YouTuber, however, denies ever having a romantic equation with Abijeet on the show. “Abijeet and I have a very organic friendship. We both shared a very good comfort level and used to chill all the time. In fact, we used to call each other brother and sister all the time, it’s just that they did not telecast those bits. I was surprised to learn that people were linking us up — in reality, we were friends and will remains so,” she said.

Alekhya, who has a couple of web series’ lined up in 2021, is looking for more work and travel this year. “I’d love to go to Dubai for a vacation and just unwind for a while. After that, it’s going to be work, work and more work for me,” she says, signing off.
