MUMBAI: Actor Manit Joura, who is better known for his role as Rishabh in Kundali Bhagya and is also playing the lead role in Dangal TV’s Prem Bandhan. Manit is playing extremely different characters in both the shows. In Kundali Bhagya, he plays the role of a gentleman who is always in support of right things while in Prem Bandhan is playing a character who is mentally challenged who has the mind of an eight-year-old boy.
In the past, we have seen actors like Varun Badola and Sharad Malhotra playing similar roles and now Manit is impressing all with his acting chops.
Talking in brief about how he prepares himself to play mentally challenged role, he shared, “Prem Bandhan is a lovely story and Harsh is not a quinquennial hero so it’s a break from typical TV soap operas. The show and the character are very demanding, physically and mentally. I have to play the role of an eight-year-old kid. I have to act thinking how a young kid would behave in a certain manner. I can’t cheat around but have to be on toes and stay in character throughout. Sometimes it gets difficult to stay in your character for 12 hours but I am pushing and challenging myself as an actor. I have no complaints.”
In the past we have seen actors playing a similar kind of role, so did you by chance take any reference. He replied, “Well, I remember watching Varun sir (Badola) long ago in Koshish- Ek Aashaa but merely as a spectator. I purposely didn’t watch or take reference as it gets very easy to get influenced by others performance. I wanted to create something of my own. I improvise and create perception of my own character. But I have studied a lot about this aliment. I happened to see a lot of documentaries available on YouTube. I read a few articles and also used to observe my young nephew to understand the child's mentality.”
Keep up the good work Manit!
