If sources are to be believed, Yash Chopra’s last directorial venture Jab Tak Hai Jaan will not see a release in Pakistan.
Informed a source that the reason for this ban is Shah Rukh Khan playing an Indian army officer named Samar. The film also has sensitive scenes featuring a Kashmir operation by the Indian army.
For some time now, the trailer of the film has stopped airing on several Pakistani news and entertainment channels. However, it has been reported that the film has been presented to the Pakistan Censor Board.

Apparently, the Board was offended and did not approve of the fact that Shah Rukh Khan’s character plays a member of an Indian Army bomb disposal squad stationed in Kashmir. The country’s central Censor Board is however keeping mum on the issues and has not yet released an official announcement to this effect.
Earlier too, films like Agent Vinod and Ek Tha Tiger were banned from release in Pakistan because Saif and Salman played RAW agents respectively in these films.
Jab Tak Hain Jaan stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma as leads. It is produced by YRF Films and is the last film directed by the late Yash Chopra. It releases on 13 November (2012).
