Check out the bridal hair accessories flaunted by telly actresses like Hina Khan, Shivangi Joshi, Ashnoor Kaur, Himanshi Khurana and others

Check out the various beautiful bridal hair accessories that are elegantly flaunted by our television heroines on-screen.

MUMBAI:  While growing up, we came across a lot of hairstyles which came in handy to us and also many which have some annoying side effects.

With different people possessing a variety of facial features like long/ circular face structures, defining cheek-contours and jawlines or chubby cheeks and double-chins; as well as different hair patterns, principles, lengths  and textures, people love to experiment with new looks by trying out different hairstyles and also hair ornaments and accessories that help enhance a particular hair-style owing to the theme of their respective occasions of interest.

Now coming to hair accessories, a wide-variety of complementary objects ranging from hair bandanas (opaque, transparent, fat, sleek, bold, shiny, printed, hard-bound/ clot-bound, single/ multi-coloured, netted, etc.) are readily available in the market. However, when it comes for party-wear, people - especially ladies, love making the right choices regarding selecting the perfect elaborate and gorgeous headgear to complement their OOTD.

Narrowing down to elaborate headgears, these ornaments are usually party wear which are both chic and elaborate in terms of their cut, curves and designs. Usually, party/ bridal hair accessories that are usually worn for attending extra-special events like marriages ceremonies, anniversary parties, show's promo-parties, kitty parties, award ceremonies, etc. are made of real ornamental metals like silver, gold, bronze or even of other metal alloys that are either silver/gold tainted later on.

These fashionable ornaments add extra drama to one's overall look for the day and their size makes up for the replacement of other jewelleries like a heavy and an elaborated neck-piece or even heavy ear-danglers (earrings).

These fancy bridal hair accessories can be worn in various ways. They can either be used to cover a side of their scalp by doing a sleek side-partition or be used to hold the hanging hair over one-shoulder by inserting it behind the ear of the opposite side, such that it's visible from behind. Many often go for the matured look by tying either sleek or elaborately thick buns (even by using wigs) and then piercing the accessory right through the center of the bun from behind if it's shield-shaped with an elaborated design/ gem-piece in it's centre. The ones used for the other fore-mentioned cases are usually crescent or patch-shaped.

Often, it's also seen how fancy and studded hair clutches are used to hold the long hair upside-down by releasing the backside of the neck. This technique is really handy to impart the chic-look as well as help a woman combat heat and transpiration issues in India's scorching and humid weather conditions. This look can be embraced for both traditional and western-themed parties as it complements both ethnic and western looks in either sarees or gowns. However, the size, cut, colour and the design must matter in order to complement the overall party ensemble.

Lastly, many ladies are spotted decking-up with minimal makeup are hairdos. Some of them are interestingly spotted using flowers (both real and artificial) as their hair accessories by sticking them alongside their buns (either along it's single or both-sides) from behind or replacing it with crescent/ patch shaped-clips by using simple black clips for supporting the volume of their hair side-ways (incase it's left open).

Also, maang-tikas are a very popular Indian bridal head and hair accessory that can be worn by every woman who is either participating in or are a part of a cultural event (including the bride herself).

Without any further ado, let's take a note of out popular telly divas acing their traditional looks with bridal hair accessories like the ones mentioned above:

1. Surbhi Jyoti

[[{"fid":"15659159","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"2":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":538,"width":468,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"2"}}]]

Endorsing a rich and royal look by draping herself completely in the colour RED, actress Surbhi Jyoti has perfectly matched her look with her elaborately delicate hairstyle, which is further complemented by the required strong yet subtle hair accessory - the maang-tika. The chain portion is pretty sleek and thin, just apt for covering her hairline and the forehead part is just the right fit as per her neck-piece's locket, which does not look overdone in anyway. The central red stone (preferably ruby) syncs it with her neckpiece and that royal lehenga with those side locks adding the feminine charm to the entire look.

2. Shrenu Parikh

[[{"fid":"15659169","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"1":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":651,"width":574,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"1"}}]]

Shrenu's look here is exactly the opposite of Surabhi's in terms of the appeal. The colour blends of pink and bright yellow adds a more of chic-vibe to it, which she contrasts with a blend of crystal and golden jewellery. Coming to her maang-tika, the forehead piece is relatively bigger and broader, thus it becomes the highlighting statement-factor of her overall chic look.

3. Shivangi Joshi

[[{"fid":"15659179","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"3":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":478,"width":637,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"3"}}]]

Shivangi looks fantabulous as always in these pics. Focussing on the left pic, she can be seen wearing a navy blue lehenga that's embroidered in silver zari work with a pastel-pink churni (veil). Now focussing on her right-side pic, she has used navy blue roses to decorate her bun behind and the colour of it is perfectly blending with that of her lehenga and standing apart as the highlighting statement of her overall look.

4. Hina Khan

[[{"fid":"15659189","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"4":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":1077,"width":710,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"4"}}]]

Hina is seen as a Christian bride herein as she's wearing a full-length white bridal gown and has covered her face with a see-through georgette veil. Owing to her minimal makeup and almost no other jewellery's usage, her sided hair accessory is her look's highlighting statement. It's made of crystal that perfectly complements her all-white outfits and it's designed in the shape of a feather/ leaf.

5. Ashnoor Kaur

[[{"fid":"15659199","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"5":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":900,"width":1200,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"5"}}]]

We absolutely loved Ashnoor's look herein for portraying the perfect form of complementation. Other than her gorgeous pastel-coloured lehenga, we can't get enough of that beautiful braid she's put up side-ways and the way she has secured it's intactness. On top of everything, the very wise use of small pastel-coloured flowers and carnations that perfectly blends with her lehenga's colours makes her hair look like a flower-trail. The small flowers also beautifully complement the small floral prints and motifs throughout her attire. Isn't she looking like an absolute princess?

6. Himanshi Khurana

[[{"fid":"15659209","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"6":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":1229,"width":1080,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"6"}}]]

Himanshi's known for her killer expressions and hot vibes. In this pic, Khurana's seen sporting a beautiful jhoomar/ passa (side-head maang-tika that's mostly worn by Muslim girls and brides) which is excellently enhancing both her same-styled earrings and the colour of her kurti - Copper. The small pearl-like beads hanging at the end of the jhoomar and earrings add that extra contrast to her overall look.

7. Surbhi Chandna

[[{"fid":"15659219","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false},"link_text":null,"type":"media","field_deltas":{"7":{"format":"default","alignment":"","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":false,"field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":false}},"attributes":{"height":1280,"width":1025,"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"7"}}]]

Talk about fusion-look, Surbhi Chandna knows how to rock-it. In this year's Lohri celebrations which apparently followed the 'disco' theme, Surbhi geared up to drape her pastel pink saree in a western-like format as the occasion is traditional. To add the 'disco' factor, let her stylish beaded-headband do the talking! Also, note the way it's carefully complementing her long and beaded earrings, which were a very typical trend of the disco trend in the '80s.
