MUMBAI: Colors TV's most-popular supernatural series Naagin's legacy has been going on over 6 years now with it's first season's first episode airing on 1st November 2015. The show has been helmed by the Balaji Telefim's production house and 5 proper seasons have been showcased so far. A stellar lead cast line-up has been a part of this show like actors Mouni Roy, Nia Sharma, Surbhi Jyoti, Anita Hassanandini, Arjun Bijlani, Rajat Tokas, Hina Khan, Mohit Malhotra and others.
Talking about the fifth installment of this series, actors Surbhi Chandna, Sharad Malhotra, Mohit Sehegal, Dheeraj Dhoopar amongst others were a part of this project, while Sharad and Surbhi played the main lead characters of Veer and Bani.
Primarily being a story based on a loose-ended folklore on a shape-shifting female serpent, Naagin is a super-successful show that is tremendously loved by it's audience till date.
After the show went off-air with the commencement of it's spin-off show Kuch Toh Hai Naagin - Ek Naye Rang Mein on 7th February 2021, both Sharad and Surbhi appeared in a recent interview together, wherein they were quizzed regarding both their on-screen chemistry and off-screen bonding. Surprisingly, their fun banter expressed the fact they are good friends first before putting their feet in their characters' shoes, which helped to arouse both their real-life friendship and reel-life romance so well!
Regarding their off-screen bondings and banters, the duo cherish every moment of their friendship. On being asked about each other's Insta bio, Sharad owned up that he gets so engrossed in posting self-uploads and watching and commenting on others' posts that he has never really checked on anybody's IG or any bio on other media accounts whatsoever. Sharad added fun by trying to check Surbhi's bio on his phone amid their conversation, but it was a failed attempt!
When the same was asked to Surbhi about Sharad's bio, she prompted out her own bio by mistake, which added to the moment's hilarious quotient. She also revealed that in-between their shots, Sharad uses his free time jiving to a song that goes by the lyrics 'Hey Mickey!'. On Surbhi's request, Sharad also performed random moves in his seated position by humming the lyrics of the same and Surbhi joined him.

The duo have mutually coined the term for it as their 'happy dance'. They further planned that when they'ld retire or whenever their mood would be off, they would perform their Happy Dance together.
Surbhi goes on revealing that Sharad acts shy before the public in the pursuit of maintaining his self-image as actor 'Sharad Malhotra' and stating Sharad's defence that, "Please, everybody's watching...I have a class to maintain...etc..etc...".
On being asked about rating each other on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of individual's dancing skills, Sharad rates Surbhi a whopping score of 11/10, considering her performance of the Taandav and that in his real-life's birthday party.
Surbhi calls Sharad a 'very fine and a passionate performer', be it for dancing or singing or any art he performs dedicatedly. She rates him 10/10 for every field he performs in professionally, including dancing.
On recalling each other's first on-screen shows/ projects ever, Surbhi prompts the right answer easily as Sharad had himself revealed the same to her before. However, Sharad's guess-work of Surbhi debuting on-screen with Qubool Hai turned out UNTRUE as the latter had debuted in Sab TV's most-popular sitcom - Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah by playing the not-so prominent role of 'Sweety'. On that note, Sharad revealed watching bits and pieces of Surbhi's performance as 'Anika' in Star Plus' Ishqbaaz.
Revealing about what makes each other cranky, for Sharad - Surbhi states that not wishing Sharad a 'hello' when he comes on the floor annoys him, further revealing an old incident when Sharad warmly greeted everybody on arriving to the sets while she could not pay a heed to it as she was in the middle of a conversation with a group. Hence, Sharad waited for her response by repeating a hello while firmly staring at her face, to which Surbhi casually glanced at him and continued with her ongoing conversation. This pissed Sharad off to such an extent that he kept shooting for his scene for 1-2 hours straight and kept subtly taunting her like a child, which Surbhi found quite adorable about him. Lastly, she said that the next day onwards, she was the first to greet him the moment he arrived in his van by saluting him as 'Shaabji'.
On Sharad's turn, he revealed that Surbhi gets cranky when the ACs don't work and she starts perspiring a lot as it gets hotter. However, despite that and normal mood-swings, Surbhi doesn't really complain a lot. On this note, Surbhi added that her co-star's body odour while performing intimate and love-making scenes matters a lot and bad odour makes her cranky, to which Sharad agrees as well, asserting that he used extra perfumes before his every shot with her.
Interestingly, Surbhi revealed about suggesting different types of food items and perfumes for Sharad to try out.
Lastly, for their 'Hiss or Kiss' round, Surbhi claimed a 'kiss' for trolls, stating that, "Any kind of talking, even if they're trolling, I don't mind it, I think lots of kisses, I hope mere pyaar se hi, mere kisses se hi thode shaant ho jaaye.", while Sharad claimed a 'hiss' first, then a 'kiss' for it's make-up.
Both Surbhi and Sharad opted for a 'big hiss' to anybody trying to invade their private space, added with kicks and punches.
From the entire interview, it was evident that both the stars knew each other well almost in and out (except for their Instagram bios lol).
