BB 13 fame Himanshi Khurrana considers her upcoming movie with Gippy Grewal as her debut film as she was barely 16 when she did her earlier films.

MUMBAI: Punjabi actress Himanshi Khurrana, who enjoys immense fan following on social media and became an overnight sensation after appearing in Bigg Boss 13, is all set to return to Punjabi films. The actress is all set to star in superstar Gippy Grewal's upcoming Punjabi film Shava Ni Girdhari Lal.

Recently in an exclusive chat, she talked about her return to Punjabi films, working with Gippy Grewal and Neeru Bajwa and shooting during the pandemic. Himanshi considers Shava Ni Girdhari Lal as her debut as she was too young when she did her previous movies.

"It feels great to be a part of such an interesting project. I was waiting for a good opportunity and especially a good script to hold on to. Although, honestly I consider this as my debut project since when I did my previous movies I was barely 16-year-old. The voice, the maturity and expression on the face everything was quite different than it is now. So, I would say it was only a teaser of the experience and exposure I was about to witness. So yeah officially we can consider Shava Ni Girdhari Lal as my debut movie.", she said.

Talking about sharing screen space with Gippy Grewal and Neeru Bajwa, she said, "I am extremely excited to be a part of this movie. When I used to feature in songs all my fans and my colleagues always asked me when I would get into movies and I always had one answer that the day I get a good script and good banner and good co-stars is the day I’ll be back in movies. Working with such a great team like Gippy Grewal, Neeru Bajwa and the entire cast of Shava Ni Girdhari Lal is like a dream come true.".

The actress is extremely proud of Punjabi films and the industry and says their movies are true to their culture, "The movies that are made in the Punjabi Film Industry are very true to their culture. They understand and identify their target audience of viewers very properly. The audience nowadays like to watch old and period films and thus they connect to the Punjabi movies and songs on a higher level.", she shared.

Himanshi also shared about how they plan to shoot the movie during the pandemic, "Many of the shoots are now happening in the North side especially Chandigarh and Punjab. Pandemic has badly hit Maharashtra and especially the Industry since so many of them seem to be affected by the virus. Punjab comparatively has less threat and less restrictions than Mumbai. We are shooting for Shava Ni Girdhari Lal in Chandigarh adhering to all government guidelines issued here. The sets are being sanitized and fumigated every now and then also the shoot timings are according to the curfew times issued by the government in order to ensure a safe environment at the shoot.", she concluded.
