And the first to get off the block is Sony’s Indian Idol. The nautanki on this one began days before the show went on air. What with Anu Malik crying foul over what he calls ‘creative differences’ and the channel trying its best to woo him back. Don’t know if this one is scripted too! Nevertheless, this one will be watched for Sunidhi Chauhan – a first timer on the small screen. Also making his debut as host is Abhijit Sawant the first Idol. Whether he scores as a host remains to be seen. Two other reality shows are also poised for take-offs. While Colors launches Chak Dhoom Dhoom Chote Dancers, Badi Jung from April 30 Zee flags off DID Lil Masters on the same day. Not to be outdone Star will unleash the likes of Rakhi Sawant, Hazel (some unknown item girl), Sanjeeda Sheikh, newly-minted DID queen Shakti Mohan’s sister Mukti (and is anyone else coming in after Niti, Shakti, Mukti?) in a show titled Zara Nachke Dikha. And for all those who are still panting for more, Imagine has Desi Girl on offer. A reality show in which eight city-bred girls -- Sambhavana Seth, Kashmera Shah, Monica Bedi – get down and dirty trying to adapt with rural life! Talking of rural life, there is Maan Rahe Tera Pitah on Sony, Karegi Naam Roshan on Zee and Sarvagunn Sampan on Imagine that are also waiting for a green signal.
