MUMBAI: Hrithik Roshan has donated Rs 20 lakhs to Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA). The actor provided ration kits to help members who are below poverty line. General secretary of CINTAA Amit Behl said, "Hrithik Roshan had helped us during the last lockdown too; he had donated Rs 25 lakh. This time, the money he gives us will be utilised in getting 5000 members of the association vaccinated and help members below the poverty line with ration''.
Amit said that Vicky Kaushal, too, has helped CINTAA with a donation of around Rs 2.5 lakhs, while actress Flora Saina has donated Rs 25,000.
About 60 percent of CINTAA members are daily wage workers who have been hit due to the new SOPs of the government as it prevents them from getting work. There are some members who are looking at alternate jobs to sustain themselves. The association itself has also been trying to raise funds and help its members internally by utilising funds from the association. Amit adds, "CINTAA has already provided ration to 1400 members and transferred Rs 3000 to about 2000 members of the association, from the funds accumulated over the years."
