MUMBAI: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata is one of the most loved ongoing Hindi TV serial, which airs on Star Plus. It's helmed by director Rajan Shahi and also happens to be one of the longest-running shows in the Hindi entertainment industry so far! What makes it stand out is that till today, it garners amplified acknowledgements, wishes and high viewership from it's audience.
The show's ship was initially sailed by telly actors Hina Khan and Karan Mehra, who played the show's OG couple of Akshara-Naitik and who also happened to be Shivangi Joshi's character Naira's parents.
As Naira grew up, fell in love with Kartik and after the sudden demise of Hina's character Akshara, she and Kartik went on to be the show's leading couple with the commencement of their marriage.
Since then, this duo has been entertaining the show's loyal audience by displaying various shades of their love-story and journey together as the industry's most loved on-screen couple (till Naira's unfortunate death).
From donning elaborate and royal garments in many family functions, focussing on various aspects of family life, character development through series of situational separation and reunion, 4 marriages, embarking upon parenthood and unlimited fairytale romance, Kartik-Naira has come down a very long way together, if not longer than Akshara-Naitik's, definitely the more impactful and relatable one.
Viewers could not get enough of their romance in the regular days. Hence to spice up the plot, the show's makers had to frequently arrange family events to hype up every situation and their romance. Even during their separation tracks, their intense romantic moments held the audience hooked to the show, who kept on hoping for their destined reunion.
The show often used to highlight special moments by using themes to levy up their romantic moments. Be it during their foreign trip, pre-marriage plot or a special family function, there's this one unique thing Kartik-Naira did that makes this couple unique, memorable and romance-goals; which is the recreation of iconic Bollywood moments and characters
For the execution, references were drawn from popular Bollywood movies like Raees, DDLJ, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Tiger Zinda Hai, which individually had an iconic moment or character imbibed in them, that makes these movies evergreen for the movie buffs.
Let's take note of these iconic moments from the Bollywood movies that were recreated by Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi (Kartik and Naira) in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Scroll down below:

On the verge of getting divorced from each other, during their college's Fresher's party, Kartik and Naira were awkward with each-other's presence. While Naira got admitted to the college as it's student, an unaware Kartik had joined the same college as a professor. At the party, the duo was seen dressed-up as Sholay's iconic couple - Basanti and Veeru (which was originally played by Bollywood actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini).
2. Raees' song Zaalima's recreation in Bikaner

Both their families of Kartik and Naira chose Bikaner to host their destination wedding. Hence, right before Kartik-Naira's first grand wedding, the duo was seen in a song sequence that's been shot at Khimsar Desert. It was the recreation of none other than Shah Rukh Khan-Mahira Khan starrer Raees' iconic romantic track 'Zaalima'. Both Mohsin and Shivangi were dressed-up like Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan and romanced each other in the desert.
3. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s iconic romantic scene from DDLJ

When the show's cast and crew were shooting in Switzerland, KaiRa brought forth the audience their epic romantic moments by creating memorable iconic moments from Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol's evergreen romantic movie Dilwale Dulhanniya Le Jayenge. The audience got to witness their cute and sweet chemistry through the recreation of the movie's iconic lead characters of Raj and Simran. From twinning in pink outfits on the Alps to riding the bull together, they even recreated Raj-Simran's iconic train sequence of running and holding each other's hands as their train is moving.

In an instance, KaiRa had also recreated the iconic song Didi Tera Devar Deewana from the popular movie Salman Khan-Madhuri Dixit starrer Hum Aapke Hai Kaun? by dressing up like Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit themselves. Shivangi was seen wearing a purple saree while Mohsin looked dapper in a pantsuit.
