MUMBAI: Many actors have narrowly escaped death. Have a look at those who have had near-death experiences in the past.
Amitabh Bachchan
In 1982, while shooting for Manmohan Desai’s Coolie, Amitabh Bachchan underwent, what was one of the worst on-set injuries. The actor misjudged a move during a fight scene and ended up getting fatally injured. He was in a critical state and was admitted to the ICU for 59 days. He considers this incident as his rebirth. Back then, fans had visited temples barefoot and prayed day in and out for his recovery.
Preity Zinta
While some are lucky enough to survive one near-death experience, Preity Zinta has narrowly escaped death on two occasions. The first time she was performing at a show in Colombo when a bomb exploded suddenly, and the second escape was during her holiday in Thailand, which was struck by tsunami.
Hema Malini
Actor-turned-politician Hema Malini had a narrow escape as two vehicles collided with each other in Mathura. Thanks to airbags, she was fortunate enough to survive the crash, unfortunately, a 2-year-old girl, who was in the other car died on the spot.
Saif Ali Khan
Saif Ali Khan had seriously injured himself while shooting for a stunt sequence for Kya Kehna. His head hit the rock. Priety Zinta was also present when he fell hard on his head. The crew members had immediately rushed him to the hospital, where he got 100 stitches.
Sunny Leone
In 2017, Sunny Leone had tweeted about surviving a plane crash. "Hey everyone, our plane almost just crashed and now we're in some remote place in Maharashtra”, read her tweet. It was quite fortunate that the pilots were able to control the situation.
Hrithik Roshan
During the shoot of Krrish, Hrithik was dangling on a cable from a highrise building when it snapped. Hrithik was hurtling down but his fall was broken by canopies and he miraculously escaped a 50-foot fall.
John Abraham
While shooting the climax of Shootout At Wadala, Anil Kapoor, had shot a blank bullet from a distance of only 1.5 feet while it was meant to be shot from a minimum distance of 15 feet. The gunshot burst into flames as planned, but due to the close range, it hit Abraham with higher intensity (almost ten times) than it was supposed to. Thankfully, the bullet did not hit him directly and grazed the left side of his neck.
