MUMBAI: Indian Idol 12 was graced by the legendary Javed Akhtar as a special guest in a recent episode. The contestants sang songs penned by him. Shanmukhapriya also performed a Javed Akhtar song. After her performance, the lyricist praised her andbsaid, “I have seen a lot of your songs on YouTube and today saw you perform live. Continue to work the way you are. You have a very bright future ahead of you.”
However, Shanmukhapriya was trolled by netizens, who slammed her and criticised her performance. One user wrote, “Everyone’s reaction after #ShanMukhPriya started singing (screaming) in #indianidol12 worst season eliminating all best singers like #anjali and #savai judges bhi Bhaag gaye ex judges bhi bhi bhadke hue hai atleast public ki suno public k liye show banaya h na?? #skipindianidol” Another tweeted, “I think SMP fans are also getting dumb now like SonyTV’s Judges & host.
