The media has already reported about the change of hands, in terms of production house, pertaining to Life OK’s upcoming show titled Savitri.
The project having a star cast in the form of Ridhi Dogra, Angad Hasija and Yash Pandit was earlier to be helmed by FilmFarm Productions (makers of Colors’ Uttaran) but now the mantle of responsibility has been passed on by the channel to actor Shabbir Ahluwalia’s production house Flying Turtles.
What could be the precise reason which triggered the change?
Before delving into it…we would like to bring into notice that this is not for the first time that Life OK has opted for such measures…or let’s put it as… a ploy.
The channel’s high-profile and immensely popular venture Mahadev was earlier to be produced by Contiloe Telefilms but later when the makers met with some “conflict of interest” with the channel, the latter passed on the ball to Triangle Film Company.
Now coming back to Savitri, one of our credible sources went on to inform that FilmFarm had been working on the show for the past six months and they had shot in various locations including Bangkok, Gujarat, Ratnagiri and Mumbai. In fact, the set had also been built.
All was going fine until the channel decided to delay the airing of the show. Savitri was initially planned to air from October but later it was pushed to December (2012). And, when the producers learnt that the project would not hit the screens even in December, they decided to hold a meeting with the channel officials.
“Both parties met and it was amicably decided that FilmFarm will no longer produce the project,” the same source added.
To get more clarity on the development, we called up FilmFarm’s Rupali Guha and she said, “I have nothing to say… talk to Gaurav Banerjee from the Star Network.”
We called and sent a text message to Gaurav Banerjee but he did not revert. We also tried getting in touch with Life OK channel head, Ajit Thakur, however he remained out of reach.
Here we would like to ask our readers…do you think change of production house acts as a boon or a bane for any particular show. Share your thoughts in the comment section below…
