Ssshhhh... Koi Hai

MUMBAI: Earlier this month, veteran actress Savita Bajaj hit a rocky patch on the financial front and did the hospital rounds after health complications. Over the past few weeks, several people came forward to help her out from her crisis.

Now, the good news is that she has been discharged from the hospital. Reportedly, actress Nupur Alankar was by her side throughout and has now taken it upon herself to look after the senior actress.

Nupur informed, “It pained my heart to see Savitaji’s condition. She has been a part of the industry for several years. Today, she needed help and I wanted to be by her side. CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes’ Association), too, has been at the forefront in helping her. She was in the hospital for around 25 days and I am happy that she has been discharged today. Savitaji lived alone in a one-room kitchen apartment, but I don’t think she can do that now. So, I have decided to bring her home. I am taking her to my sister’s place and all of us will take care of her.”.

The decision to move her into her sister’s home was also because she lives near the hospital where the veteran actress was recuperating. “It will be easier to take her to the hospital if there is a need in the future. I will be visiting her daily to check on her health. For now, she needs oxygen support. We are grateful to Sonu Sood, who has arranged an oxygen concentrator for her. My aim is to have it weaned off gradually. She just needs lots of love, care and ghar ka khaana (smiles). We will move her to a rental apartment once she has fully recovered. She is hurt about people not being there for her during this crisis. All we need is to rebuild her trust in people.”, she said.

Feeble but happy Savita shared, “I am feeling better. Nupur has been like a Godsend to me. She assured me that she would be by my side throughout and kept her word. She visited me at the hospital daily. Nupur and her sister, Jigyaasa, have brought me to their home. It seems like a miracle. Mujhe lagta hai mujhe nayi zindagi mil gayi.”.
