Recently, there have been constant changes in artistes playing cameos in the Life OK show Mahadev produced by Triangle Film Company. When Tellychakkar.com got in touch with producer Nikhil Sinha, he divulged facts about the same. In the beginning, Kishwer Merchantt was selected for a five- episode appearance but she opted out and was replaced by Mita Vashisth. The latter, veteran film and TV actress (Bharat Ek Khoj and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki) primarily agreed to essay the role of evil Darukka who worships Parvati but becomes vain with power. She even shot for about seven hours before deciding to opt out of the show as she was not finding it interesting enough. This put the production house in a quandary who were forced to replace her with Sunila Karambelkar. “It was unprofessional and unfortunate on Mita’s part as we had to re-shoot the portion she had already done with a new actor leading to lots of financial losses and time loss. It is not done that suddenly she feels that the role is not fun enough or was not working out. Since she had initially agreed to do the role, ideally she should have finished her commitments,” observed Nikhil. However, Nikhil does not want to compare Mita’s walking out midway with Kishwer’s decision to not come on board. “Kishwer’s case was different, for she opted out one day before the shoot. She had a logical reason as she had issues with the language which would have affected us as well.” However, when we spoke to Mita, who was last seen in Suvreen Guggal - Topper Of The Year, she had a different take to relate on the whole thing. “Producer Nikhil had given me a completely different narration. This was contrary to what the director was executing on floor. Hence, I felt unhappy. Besides, there were major issues with the costumes as well. With all the these differences of opinion I told the floor director during the lunch time itself that things will not work out.” “Then by evening, I got so frustrated that I told him that I wouldn’t mind doing what he said but then it was not working out for me as I was not getting the clear idea of how to execute things. Finally, all this confusion forced Nikhil to come all the way to the distant Naigoan set. On seeing the sequence we had shot, he also agreed with me that it was not the way he had envisioned things. He also agreed to re-shoot the three scenes but by then, I had decided to quit. I have no issues with Nikhil for he also agreed to pay me for a day. But after all this, I feel that there is no space for art left today. You are signed only a day before shooting starts. Where is time to allow your creative juices to flourish,” she ended.
