MUMBAI: Indian Idol 12 will come to a close this Sunday, August 15. The grand finale episode will feature various artistes from across the country who will perform on the stage and entertain the audience with their voices and dance skills only to culminate in the winner's announcement.
The top six contestants who are going to compete in the grand finale episode are Nihal Tauro, Mohd Danish, Sayli Kamble, Shamukhapriya, Pawandeep Rajan, and Arunita Kanjilal.
Shamukhapriya is one of the most popular contestants who has been making headlines since the beginning of the season. Her powerful voice with a raspy tone has captured the audience since the go.
However, this has not been the first reality show that Shanmukhapriya participated in. The 18-year-old singer featured in Zee Telugu LIttle Champs in 2008 and later featured in other shows like Super Singer Junior on Tamil TV, Padutha, Theeyaga Season 6 Telugu, The Voice India Kids in 2016 and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs in 2017. She also lent her voice to a song in the Telugu film - Tejam.

Over the past few weeks, several celebrities arrived on the show and were astounded by Shanmukhapriya's voice. Besides facing much appreciation for her powerhouse performances, the young singer also faces trolling quite often. During an episode in which Disco King Bappi Lahiri had featured as the celebrity guest, he was so impressed by Shanmukhapriya that he went on to offer her, her first film - a full album with songs.
Recently, Shanmukhapriya talked about her journey on the show and shared how since childhood she has been watching the show and always wanted to be in it. She stated that it was not just her but her family also who dreamt of her coming to the show. The singer went on to share that Indian Idol 12 has been a very fruitful experience for her and this is the first time she is on a real show.
The grand finale episode will air from 12 pm on Sunday, August 15 to 12 am, Monday, August 16. The makers have dubbed it as the greatest grand finale ever as it will have 40 acts and will keep the audience entertained for 12 hours.
