MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Shamita Shetty has currently participated in Bigg Boss OTT, which is being hosted by Karan Johar. She's also known as the sister of the famous Bollywood actress of the '90s - Shilpa Shetty.
Shamita is herself an Indian Bollywood actress, who had gained immense popularity for her debut role of Ishika Dhanrajgir in the Shah Rukh Khan-Amitabh Bachchan starrer Mohabbatein (2000). She even won the IIFA Award for being the 'Star Debut of the year' for enacting Ishika's role.
Back in 2009, she had already participated in Bigg Boss's season 3, which was hosted by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. However, she had to quit the show early for attending her sister and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's marriage to London-based business tycoon Raj Kundra that year itself. Later, she had also been a part of other reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (2015) and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (2019) and had emerged as one of their finalists.
Currently, owing to her brother-in-law's ongoing arrest related to his pornographic scandal, unfortunately, Shamita is being unnecessarily harassed for the same. However, without paying any heed to these distractions, the actress is bravely keeping her head high and taking up all the indoor challenges sportingly.
Recently, she made her way to the headlines for her drastic showdown with the reality show's co-contestants like Pratik Sehjpal and Akshara Singh.
