An air-hostess' advantage!

Gunjan Walia's one helluva excited girl who has got to play her dream role of the lead protagonist Krishna in Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye on Sahara One. After doing K Street Pali Hill, Sindoorr and Kkusum, she seems to have finally got her due. On her return trip to Mumbai from Delhi where she had been to attend a press conference for her daily soap, she was seated along with co-stars Sachin Tyagi (her bro-in-law) and Chaitanya Choudhary (her hero) in the aircraft, when she suddenly saw the flaps going up again in the about-to-land plane. "I also heard the Captain call for the crew and got alarmed because being an airhostess (I used to fly with Jet Airways) before entering the acting scene, I knew what it meant when the Capt. called for the crew." Meanwhile her co-stars got worried and pestered her for an explanation as Gunjan monitored outside conditions, but she refused to divulge anything as she did not want to frighten them, until everything became alright and the flight landed safely! That is the advantage of being an air-hostess - you know exactly when things go wrong! It's raining TV stars at premiers! Of late we have noticed that our TV fraternity has been thronging film premiers, especially angrezi movies. Here they get the dual advantage of getting a free invitation of catching up on the film as well an opportunity to grab a place on page 3. Similar was the case at the recent special screening of the Leonardo De Caprio film, Departed at a suburban multiplex. Marked present were tellydom's Rucha Gujrati, Chetan Hansraj with wife Lavinia, Kushal Punjabi, VJ Maria Goretti, Mini Mathur with hubby Kabir, Shreeyas Talpade (now a film star), Samir Soni and many more recognizable faces from the small screen. So here's a short cut to fame for the wannabes on TV. Try grabbing an invite for such premiers. You have a chance to get noticed! Bharti's preoccupations! Bharti Achrekar is happy playing Kantaben in Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka and has no plans of taking up full time television. It seems besides Nimmo, the talented actor is currently concentrating on films along with her own film production house. Lately Bharti has signed up Basu Chatterji's and Leena Bakshi's new films where she essays a comic character. We also heard that Mrs Wagle from Wagale Ki Duniya is also doing a Hinglish film where she will be seen in a never seen before avtar. "Television takes a lot of time and films get over soon. Along with acting on the big screen, I also produce Marathi films. In fact, one of my films got me an award last year. Also my stage shows keep me busy as I am basically a singer," smiles the lovely actor who has completed her Masters in music. She also organizes weekly musical stage shows for actors who have the singing talent and aspire to make it big. Acting, film production and singing.... Hmm, we think, many of the actors should take a leaf out of the Bharti's book who believes in doing so many things at one time. Offers galore for Anuj! In spite of Rishton Ki Dor not doing too well, Anuj Saxena seems to be flooded with offers. We all know that he's doing a cameo in Sahara One's Solaah Shringaar. And now news has filtered in that Anuj is being considered to play the lead opposite two lovely ladies for two new shows on Sony TV - one opposite Renuka Shahane in Jeetiye and the second opposite Aamna Shariff in an untitled venture. But a source reveals that the actor is probably declining both the shows. And the offers don't end there! It seems even Aruna Irani has offered him a role for her new serial on Sahara One, to be directed by Ashok Gaikwad (of Prratima fame). Meanwhile, Anuj's Maverick Productions is currently busy with finalizing the star cast for his first telly show Akhand Sau Bhagyawati. Sources reveal that with a new lead protagonist, the show promises many established names. And Anuj has himself gone on record to claim that he will soon be seen as a lead in his in-house production. If rumours are to be believed it is also speculated that Anuj is aiming at Bollywood, not as a producer but as an actor to star in a film! Seems the actor's career is going great guns as his kitty looks quite colourful!
