Neelu Kohli in Saudagar

After Ram Kapoor, the latest actor to be signed on for Sagar Arts’ Saudagar is seasoned actress Neelu Kohli. The actress will be seen playing the role of Jannat, a Muslim mother. The show according to sources is a take on the blockbuster flick Baghbaan. Informs a source, “The show is about five families out of which two are Gujaratis, one is Maharashtrian and the fourth is a Muslim family. Neelu plays the Muslim mother. Her character name is Jannat and she has two sons. Her on-screen husband is not yet finalised. The show talks about the sacrifices parents make while raising their children and how kids abandon their parents when they need them the most. Neelu will be one of the five Hema Mailinis on the show. The story is written by Achala Nagar, writer of Baghbaan and the costumes will be done by Vikram Phadnis.” When contacted Neelu Kohli confirmed the news but refused to divulge any other information. The show is expected to launch sometime in the end of next month on NDTV Imagine.
