MUMBAI: He brought tears of joy to everyone’s eyes. With his incredible win, he not just fulfilled his dream but many athletes. We are of course talking about India's new ‘Golden Boy’ who is none other than Neeraj Chopra.

Neeraj won the gold medal in men's javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics, and with this, he became India’s first ever track and field Olympic gold medalist. The entire country celebrated his achievement. Social media was flooded with congratulatory messages. From celebrities to netizens, everyone lauded him for making the country proud in a grand and sweetest way.
Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar shared a series of pictures of Neeraj Chopra on Instagram and wrote, “India shines brighter today because of you, @neeraj____chopra. Your javelin carried the tricolour all the way and made it flutter with the pride of every Indian.”
Golfer Jeev Milkha Singh on the other hand wrote on Twitter, “What a show @Neeraj_chopra1! Dad waited so many years for this to happen. His dream has finally come true with India's first athletic gold. I am crying as I tweet this. And I am sure dad is crying up above. Thank you for making this happen.”
Interestingly, the history-maker has dedicated his medal to Milkha Singh and P. T. Usha.

1 He was born on 24 December 1997 in Panipat district, Haryana.
2 He graduated from Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College in Chandigarh.
3 He wanted to be a cricketer, but eventually took up javelin.
4 As a child, he suffered from weight issues, and that’s why his father enrolled him in a gymnasium at Madlauda.
5 He made his debut at the Olympics representing India at the 2020 Summer Olympics, and so far he is the only one to have won gold in his Olympic debut.
