MUMBAI: Ayyam Mehta is an integral part of Qurbaan Hua.
He plays one of the most crucial roles as Vyasji. In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, he opened up about being a part of Qurbaan Hua. Ayyam shared, “My character who is from Uttarakhand and he is very religious person. As everyone has religious sense so as he have. From before scenes have evolved. And my character’s son comes home with her Muslim wife. He married a Muslim girl. So what happens is at start they don’t accept it. And then it goes well after some time.
We further asked him that generally on television there are matriarchal shows but Qurbaan Hua slightly swings on the lines of being a patriarchal show. Ayyam said, “I don’t believe in this. He is the head of the house. Everyone listens to him and even whole Uttarakhand listens. So you cannot ignore it. Everyone has a different story in their life. So he also have the story. So I don’t believe this is patriarchal. It is about whole family and family values.”
On being asked what is the toughest scene he has shot so far, he shared, “Every scene is toughest. We are professional actors. Sometimes it feels that this scenes is fine and I could have done more nicely. Earlier the first time his girl is dead and the second time he got to know his boy is dead and after some time he got to know that he is not dead so I have been faced this situations 3-4 times. It becomes hard to play the role in situations. And have to act brave. And when finally he accept the Muslim girl and it doesn’t matter that she is a Muslim. That scenes is also very good.”
