Jyoti Mukerjee is a well-known name in showbiz, and her appearance in the show is extra special for viewers.

The actress made her comeback to the acting world after 16 long years.

In an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar, Jyoti got candid about a lot of things related to her show and her personal life.

Let's take a look at the pleasant conversation where Jyoti beautifully answered our questions:

You took a 16-year-long break and finally made a comeback. Was this period challenging for you?

It was challenging. First, a lot has changed in terms of working style. But it is always for the better. The industry has grown so much. It was challenging for me to get back as I couldn't decide what I should pick up. I was very sure that I want to do all of it on my own without anyone's help or through my contacts. I wanted to come back as a newcomer. Some roles were very vague, and some were very good. But it did take me a while to decide what to do. But this show came my way, and I loved the set-up, the production house, and the premise. I also thought that I need to start instead of just waiting. I am really happy with the decision that I made.

How relatable is your character to you in real life?

My character is quite contrasting compared to my elder sister Mithila. While Meenal is quite educated and understands everything, she chooses to keep quiet. Talking about the similarities, I do have some. I like to see the positive side to a lot of things than the negative. In real life as well, I am a let go kind of a person. I don't hold on to things. Somewhere I do relate to her, and sometimes, I don't. But in real life, I am not like this. I can be really violent and angry.

What was your first reaction to seeing yourself on-screen after several years?

I didn't see myself on the monitor on the set at all. I was extremely nervous and had anxiety. I had butterflies in my stomach. I was very scared to see and I kept wondering if I did it right, was I looking good, and all of that. But I did cry after the scene was over. I had that emotional outburst. It was an emotional day for me. I didn't see myself on screen for the whole week.

Tell us about your bond with Rani Mukherjee

We have been best friends who are sisters. We have lived together in a joint family for 14 years. We have never struggled to make an adjustment. I got married at a very young age and I have been married for 22 years now. It's been like a journey for me there too. My mother-in-law was very supportive as Rani was a working girl then and she never had a problem with my work too. Rani and are like sisters. If I had a fight with my husband, I would simply go and tell Rani about it. Now since I decided to make a comeback, I would love to work with Rani. I never gave a thought about it in the last 16 years.

Well said, Jyoti!

The show also stars Rajkumar Singh, Pooja Kaava, Meenal Kapre, Nitin Vakharia, Hitesh Sampat, and Sumati Singh among others.
