Karan Grover, aka Dr. Armaan Mallik of Dill Mill Gayye fame, has an entire left arm covered with a tribal design tattoo and the right arm with a dragon tattoo. But for the role of a medical intern, he covers up his arms with loads of makeup. However, problems arose when Karan was supposed to play basketball in a sleeveless vest in one of the episodes.
So, will this medical intern reveal his tattoos? Unfortunately, they'll still remain covered. "Though I was wearing a sleeveless vest, no one was able to see my tattoos as they've covered by makeup. It took about 15 minutes to cover each arm" says Karan.
We reckon that it's a folly not to reveal his tattoos as they sure would have been more appealing than watching him act.
Chinu-Shalu : A real pair?
Manish Naggdev, aka Chinu of Banoo Main Teri Dulhan, is rumoured to have an off screen affair with his co-star Snehal Sahai who plays his wife Shalu in the show. We wonder how much truth is there to it.
Manish says this in his defence, "We are not seeing each other, I am quite aware of these rumours, but I think when the on screen chemistry works, these stories are bound to arise. We've been appreciated for our work, but apart from that there is nothing more."
Well Manish, we shall just take your word for now!
Venom spewing Jigyasa :
Vociferous and venom spewing Ashwini Kalsekar as Jigyasa is the sureshot USP of Zee's Kasamh Se. After tracking the show for a few weeks, we think the actress surely blazes up the screen with her acting histrionics. At times, she's a doting sister to Jai Walia, next moment an insecure, jealous nanand who wants to finish off Bani; and just in the next shot she'll have you in splits with her comic act.
With so many shades to her complex bad character we're sure Ashwini is enjoying her stint back as Jigyasa. For sometime, Jaya Bhattacharya had replaced Kalsekar who had opted out of Kasamh Se citing creative differences. It definitely wasn't an easy task for Jaya to step into Ashwini's shoes considering Jigyasa had became a household name in no time.
But then life came a full circle for Ashwini when the creative team called her back to spice up the show. The decision has definitely paid off.
Afterall, all's well that ends well.
Too big to be judged! :
Pakistan's Amanullah Khan came to Mumbai to compete in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge 3 but in the end there was no one that could compete with him. It's not that the other candidates weren't as good as him, nor did Amanullah win the title. So, then how was he left all alone?
A reliable source informed us that the three judges, Shekhar Suman, Umer Sharif, and Navjot Singh Sidhu, didn't deem themselves worthy enough to pass a judgment on this legendary artist. So, Amanullah was drafted out from the competition. The net result:- Amanullah ended up gaining only respect but no rating.
We wonder whether the Pakistani would be laughing at the judges' verdict.
Ghagra tales :
Nupur Joshi aka Rajnandini of Rakhi isn't too happy with her look and costume in the show. Apparently, our khabru from the sets revealed that the pretty actress is uncomfortable carrying a heavy ghagra-choli.
"I'm not really comfortable carrying such heavy costumes and jewellery. Also, I have to be very careful while enacting my scenes. My costume designer is aware of it but shockingly he hasn't done anything as yet. Now, I think I'll have to inform my producer about it," says Nupur.
Well, let's hope the producer hear out Nupur's ghagra tales.
My Sir Husband !
Our poor viewers have learnt to digest the extravagant and unconventional on-screen names of our telly stars. However, this one is a bit too hard to swallow. Our demure Kasturi, played by Shubhangi Atre, calls her husband as Ronak Sir.
This was acceptable when the duo didn't tie the knot. However, post marriage, this is hard to understand. When quizzed about it, Shubhangi replied, "This just reflects her innocence. Prior to her marriage, Kasturi worked for the Sabharawals (as if we didn't know this), so she addressed them as sirs. However, in one of the recent episodes, Ronak has asked Kasturi to stop addressing him as Sir Ronak."
It indeed is nice to hear this, but we just hope that Kasturi is pe Kayyam rahe!
Swing in fortunes?
Behind every successful man there is a woman. So goes the popular saying. However, post his marriage to fellow actress Maninee De, Mihir Mishra's career hasn't taken the upward curve. Of late, Mihir's appearance on television has been limited to playing cameo roles.
However, lady luck has finally smiled upon him. Mihir has been roped in by Inox to play a plum role in one of its shows. Inox will launch their channel soon. "I can't reveal much about the show at the moment. Apart from this show, I'm also doing Zaara." said Mihir.
Well, we wish you all the best Mihir!
Birthday gal :
Manava Naik aka Manjeet from Zee's Teen Bahuraaniyan is all set to celebrate her big day… we mean her birthday on September 8. Taking time off from her shooting schedule, she's planning to throw a small party at home for some of her close friends. More than her birthday, Manava is more excited about catching up with her bosom pals from school and college, whom she never ends up meeting owing to hectic schedule.
"This is one day when I always make time for my friends. I personally wish to do so because otherwise I am too held up with shoots. In fact, there will be friends whom I will be meeting exactly after a year, when they had come to visit me on my previous birthday," reveals Manava.
Well Manava, whatever the occasion be, you never really need a reason to celebrate with friends.
Musically yours :
We learnt lately that Vikram Acharya aka Sameer of Woh Rehna Wali Mehlon Ki is a music lover. This music aficionado is passionate about not just hip-hop but even classical. It wouldn't be surprising that this cool dude carries a MP3 player with him while shooting and traveling. He couldn't resist saying, that if not an actor then he would have been a DJ.
Interestingly, Vikram is also planning to enroll himself in guitar classes. Notwithstanding, he wishes to also devote some more time to learn other classical instruments.
"Music is in my genes. Now, I'm trying to seize out time for my guitar classes. Learning guitar is just like a childhood dream come true," utters Vikram.
Hitting the right chords eh Vikram?
Who let the dog in? :
Animals are the star attractions of any Circus. So, how could Sony's Comedy Circus Lageraho be any different?
While one very hilarious episode was being canned, a stray dog appeared on the dias. The director immediately asked for it to be removed. One of the unit members lured the dog away. However, the stray wouldn't budge. After every few minutes he would sneak onto the stage again. On enquiring, it was learnt that this dog is a common feature around Mohan Studio. However, that wasn't pleasing the director a wee bit. He yelled at all demanding the dog to be whisked away immediately. Finally, a member hit the dog with a broom and the stray wasn't to be seen again on the stage.
How unfair…. Comedy Circus' artists are being given the leeway to do anything while this talented doggy was debarred from showcasing his skills
Controversial Rakhi :
Nach Baliye hasn't hit our TV screens as yet, but it's already giving way to hullabaloo. Rakhi Sawant is unhappy yet again. This time, it seems the rehearsals for NB3 are giving her a lot of grief. The show will commence from September 22 but Rakhi has already aired her discontent over a few issues.
Firstly, the actress isn't pleased with the package offered to her. Secondly, her choreographer, Pratap Shetty, hasn't quite won her trust. She feels that her partner Abhishek is a natural dancer but Pratap doesn't pay any heed to his views. Apparently, Rakhi is not too happy with her costume and song selection too.
"I'm not too happy with the kind of outfits given to us. There are too glittery and channel is not allowing us to use any props. I'll soon convey my displeasure to the concerned authorities," says Rakhi.
Well, well… are these genuine problems or just arm twisting tactics from the Oomph gal? Whatever the case, be sure of some real fireworks on this dance reality show.
Pawan in London :
For long it was widely reported that Pawan Shankar has taken the Bollywood route. However, Pawan rubbished these tales every time. However, the actor has finally broken his silence in an exclusive chat with us.
While he refused to name the film, the actor said "he'll soon fly out to London for the shoot. The film revolves around a group of travellers who are off to London for holidays. In the beginning, we are complete strangers but once we spend quality time together we get to know each other. Anupam Kher is also there in the film. Unfortunately, I can't reveal more."
Well, that's not all, Pawan has signed another film. Before signing off, he stated that he's isn't looking at television for now as it is less exciting.
Working in the television may not be exciting anymore but can Pawan excite the audience through his performance in films?
Lageraho Lagoo ben... :
While watching TV in our drawing rooms we often marvel at the skills of our finest actors. Often, we label them as flawless artists. However, on the sets, even the best ones tend to flinch before the camera.
We caught one such fine actress Reema Lagoo who struggled to deliver her dialogues on the sets of Sony's Comedy Circus Lageraho. The veteran actress is going to be a special guest on the show. The channel saw this as an opportunity to promote their soon to be launched show Jhalak Dikhhla Ja. So, our lady was required to do her promotional duties. What followed next was a real shock to all.
While Reema recited her lines on Jhalak well, she stuttered everytime when required to say 'only on Sony Entertainment Television.' Poor Reema just couldn't get the key words right. She would err like this - only on Sony enter.. , only on Sony entertainment par, on Sony enter channel. Grr… it took us 6-7 retakes till she got it right.
Fortunately, Reema was required for just a day or else everytime she erred, the director would have said lageraho Reema ben.
Choreographer controversies :
Nach Baliye 3 hasn't flagged off yet but it's already giving way to controversies .Pooja Bedi and Hanif Hilal have sacked their choreographer Vishwas on the very first day of rehearsals. Hanif being a choreographer himself was not convinced with his traditional style of dancing.
"Vishwas was good but was not at all professional. Hanif is such a good choreographer and Vishwas is not even one percent of him. Nach Baliye is a big competition and we need to have a good choreographer. It's all about dancing on Bollywood numbers and his style was very old and traditional. So, we spoke to the channel and they helped us out with a different choreographer," reveals Pooja.
Well, well, everything is fair in love and war.
Tired of being Bindiya :
Looks like Amrapalli is tired and bored of playing the peculiar bahu Bindiya in Teen Bahuraaniyan. While the chirpy actress is eagerly looking for something more interesting to come her way, she's also waiting for the day when Bindiya turns negative.
"My character was supposed to take a 360 degree turn but as the buzz goes the producers have changed their mind. It seems Bindiya has become very popular with the viewers, so the same track continues. Though, it's nice to know that people have accepted but as an actor I want to try newer shades to my existing character. Or then maybe I need to look at another show," says Amrapali
Now, lets hope the young lady soon lands a new show .
Manish's first love :
Afer Betiyaan Apni Ya Paraya Dhan wrapped up, Manish Raisinghania was left with just Zee's Teen Bahuraniyan in hand. Now it seems the hunk has started utilizing his free time by learning Salsa along with martial arts.
Not many know that Manish is a second degree black belt in Karate and has won the National Championship four times for Karate.
"I was selected for the International championship four times but decided to quit due to lack of sponsorships. In India, except cricket, every other game suffers. And off late, though I am a poor dancer I've developed a liking for salsa too. It also helps me keep my body fit and flexible. Also, I'm trying my luck in getting a ticket to Bollywood so, it'll be an added benefit for me. I am also reading up some good film scripts," reveals Manish.
Well, looks like Manish is seriously preparing himself for the big break.
Lonely Mazher :
Mazher Syed's very lonely without girlfriend Mouli these days. It seems Moulli who doesn't have too much work on her plate these days has gone off to Igatpurii for a ten days Vipassana course.
Now, we all know that while at the Vipassana centre one is not even allowed to receive calls from the outside world.
While Mazher's missing his lady love terribly, he has been seen hanging around with his bum chum Amit Verma these days and of course shooting for his two shows-- Kahaani and Saat Phere.
.
Now lets hope the bong beauty returns fast and the two love birds connect back fast enough!
Saree Picture! :
She's winning many hearts with her portrayal as Prarthana in Zee's Har Ghar Kuch Kehta, but Rati Pandey isn't all happy with her look in the show. Apparently, our khabru from the sets reveals that the Patna girl was seen cribing about the way her saree was draped by her designer that made her look plump.
"I've told my costume designers innumerable times about this. Shockingly, they haven't done anything about it. My colleagues too have pointed it to me. Our director is very particular about the schedule thus we all have to dress up in quick time. But then I am really not comfortable with my look," fumes Rati.
Well, let's hope poor Prarthana's `prarthana' (prayers) are finally heard by the producers!
No bikes for Naik!:
Manava Naik, the Punjabi bahu in Teen Bahuraniyaan, suffers from a bike phobia. She met an accident while driving a one few years back.
"I am scared of riding bikes. While auditioning for this role I was amused when production house asked me whether I can ride a bike or not. It was embarrassing but now I have excelled in it. I will never buy a bike for my self. I prefer having a car more then a bike," says Manava.
We hope audience will love her new avatar!
Rajeev's popularity :
We met up with the most eligible bachelor in tellyland, Rajeev Khandelwal on the sets of Left Right Left. While chatting up with us, he narrated a rather dreadful experience in the Pink City Jaipur where he was hounded by a gang of 20 girls in a disco.
"As I entered the disco some 15 to 20 girls came running towards me. All of them wanted to dance with me; they were yelling and pulling me towards themselves. It was a bit scary as I was not really able to handle so many girls at the same time. Ultimately, I left the venue within the next ten minutes. Later, after an hour I returned back and guess what! Those girls were still waiting for me. I was pleased by their attitude and decided to shake a leg with all of them," adds Rajeev.
This is not the first time that Rajeev faced such a situation. Two years back, one had heard of instances where girls used to forcefully enter the sets of Kahiin to Hoga just to get a glimpse of the actor.
Well! We can only wish Rajeev All the Best!
Delicate- Sushi!:
Sampada Vaze, last seen in Rishton Ki Dor is enjoying her post marriage endeavour of learning Sushi- Japanese delicacy.
"Yeah I'm learning how to make Sushi. It's surely not for the faint hearted because it's made of raw fish. It's not as simple as it looks. It's literally an art. However, I love sushi and can eat it anytime. Unfortunately there are not too many enthusiastic sushi eaters" adds excited Sampada.
She learnt dicing the raw fish precisely from her brother who is into hotel management Industry. Interestingly she is planning on throwing a Sushi party for her friends' and. "I can assure that Sushi may not look good but will taste great."
Well all we can say, you'd be lucky if you get enough takers Sampada!
Sharad Malhotra :
It's all about Shahrukh. Well! Sharad Malhotra, a Khoj of Cinestars ki khoj and one of the handsome actors in television industry is a great fan of Shah Rukh Khan. Sharad, whose character has just changed from a mentally challenged person to a normal guy in Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan is still a child by heart.
As per our Khabru, this handsome hunk blushes while talking about his ultimate desires of working with SRK.
Accidentally, he has seen SRK at an event backstage but could not get an opportunity to meet him. Well! Everyone dreams of working with SRK.
We hope the producers are listening to Sharad's plea…
Amrapalli's poor health:
Amrapalli, one of the gorgeous looking bahus from Teen Bahuraniyaa is down with poor health. She is suffering from pain and acidity. "Yesterday I got an acidity attack while shooting," says Amrapalli.
After complaining of pain she had to shoot for some more hours. "I could not help it but Kadambari (Janki) and Nimisha (Kokila) had taken good care of me during the shoot. They treat me like their younger sister," she said.
"I was fasting on Monday and was sipping tea for the whole day. Even on Tuesday I continued to work non-stop. Suddenly yesterday in the afternoon I started to feel the pain in my stomach. Till evening it got worst and I had to leave the shoot in the middle," utters Gupta.
"I had gone to the doctor and was told to take rest. Currently I am on a liquid diet, says the bahu. But for tomorrow she has to resume work.
"As there are a fewer bank of episodes for the show I have to go for the shoot tomorrow, " signs off Amrapalli in pain.
Sexy Sangeeta :
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. However, at times when our Tellywood stars have no work on television, they take refuge in plays. Pretty actress Sangeeta Ghosh, last seen in Viraasat, made her on-stage debut with the play 'Kahani Main twist -directed by Rajesh Solanki and Amish Tanna.
The ploy revolves around a happily married couple Arun (Kiran Karmarkar) and Saloni (Sangeeta Ghosh). One day their Uncle Tom (Sudhir Dalvi) informs them that they've been chosen as the best couple of the year and will be awarded Rs.10 lakhs.
Trouble brews in the life of this couple as they squabble over who really deserves the booty? Things worsen to an extent that they don't see eye-to-eye and even hire lawyers, who reside in their house. The couple suspects each other of having an affair with the lawyers which only adds to the drama.
After the dramatic twists and turns in Virasaat, expect Sangeeta to digest this in her stride. Fortunately for the audience and Sangeeta herself, this play wouldn't have an abrupt end like Viraasat.
