MUMBAI: Star Bharat's show Tera Mera Saath Rahe which has recently started airing on the small screens has become an instant hit among the fans.
The show has garnered a huge fan following in such a short span of time.
While Tera Mera Saath Rahe marks the reunion of Rupal Patel, Gia Manek, Vandana Vithlanee and Mohammad Nazim, the makers have roped in a talented bunch of actors in pivotal roles. Rajkumar Singh is one of them. He is seen playing a pivotal role in the show.
Rajkumar Singh is seen as Chirag Keshav Modi in the show and is paired opposite Sumati Singh.
In an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar, Rajkumar got candid about a lot of things.
Let's take a look:
How did you bag the show?
I keep posting posts and videos of my dance on Instagram. The casting director of the show Prince saw my dance video on Instagram. He sent a screenshot of the same to my actor friend Pratham Kunwar and asked him if he knew me. My friend told me about this and said that he has given my number to that casting director. I was quite surprised, that how can I bag a show like this? I was thinking that I have given so many auditions and done so much but never got a good opportunity. And now that I finally decided to give up, I got this show. I wasn't told much about the show but I just decided to give the audition. I was called for the look test and then I just started praying and wanted to bag the show anyhow. Luckily, I got selected.
Is dance your hobby or have you decided to make a career out of it?
When I came to Mumbai, I started as a background dancer. I have been a background dancer for one of the events where Vishal Singh was performing. From being a background dancer to playing side roles of a lead's friend, I have got an opportunity to play the same character Vishal played in Saath Nibhana Saathiya. I am a blessed boy. 10 years ago I did background dancing and now I am playing such a great character. The hard work paid off. I decided to give up my acting for my passion for dance. The reason was that I wasn't getting the desired work and my dance was also getting hampered.
Is Chirag's character relatable to you in your real life?
Chirag is very fun-loving and is a US return, so obviously, he is quite different. His mentality is very different and broad from his family members. But in real life, I am wider than this. I love having fun. I speak to very few people but they mean the world to me. Chirag is very sweet, listens to everything and takes a stand. So, there are a lot of similarities between me and Chirag. But here, Chirag can't see the reality, but in real life, I can't see.
On the work front, Rajkumar has appeared in shows like Jaat Ki Jugni, Roadies, among others.
