MUMBAI: TellyChakkar is back with yet another update from everyone's favourite show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.
It was recently updated that Vihan Verma replaced Adish Vaidya as Mohit in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, Although it was speculated that Adish had opted out of the show for Bigg Boss 3 Marathi but that hasn't been the reason. We got in touch with Adish as asked him about the actual reason and more.
So what was the real reason behind leaving the show?
I did not quit Ghum specifically for any other show. There were many offers that I had while I was doing the show but I kept denying it. I had to leave a film, tv and web series earlier for the show amid the pandemic. While I was cast for GHKKPM, the promise that I was made for my character in the show was not turning into reality. I waited for a year with the show and expected that I would get more scenes and exploration to the character but nothing happened but then I realised that the show will keep staying as the copy of Kusum Dola and my main reason was that I didn't have much screen space as promised. I quit it after year to give them time to figure out things, despite then there was no growth so I chose to leave the show.
Are you looking out for new shows on any of the platforms? What kind of characters would you look out for now?
Honestly, I have a couple of projects on the plate. There is a web show I am in talks of but nothing yet on papers so for now, I will take a small break and then pick on what goes well for me. I have lead several shows before, so now I would prefer leading a show but I have been someone who rather looks at the quality of the show so if not lead, I need a character that keeps my brain engaged and gives me space to improvise. The character should provide me good significance onscreen, it should be performance-based. Only then I would take such a character up if not then I would wait.
What was the reaction of your co-stars on the news of you quitting the show?
Well, I didn't tell the cast and crew all at once. Gradually people came to know in the cast. Simultaneously, I was in talks with the production for almost a month to figure out what can be done. Professionally, I was bound not to disclose the news about my exit but then everyone began to understand what was happening. My colleagues did not want me to leave the show but then they supported my decision and they felt I should do what I find is best suitable for me so yes the journey has been good.
We are surely going to miss Adish as Mohit, wishing him all the luck for his upcoming projects.
