Aafat-e-Ishq

MUMBAI: ZEE5’s recently released movie Aafat-e-Ishq, which features Neha Sharma in the leading role, has been the talk of the town ever since the trailer was launched. This movie also stars amazing talent like Namit Das, Ila Arun, Amit Sial, Vikram Kochhar, and Deepak Dobriyal along with Neha. The film is directed by Indrajit Nattoji. Here is the complete review.

The premise of the movie deals with the the character Lallo, played by Neha. She is a loner in life and is seeking a partner through dating apps. But whoever comes close to her becomes the target of a mysterious death. What is the reason behind all these deaths and how Lallo is connected to them form the crux of the story. The screenplay of the movie is strictly average, and the direction given by Indrajit Nattoji is decent.

Talking about the performances, no doubt it is a treat to watch Neha Sharma. The actress looks beautiful and has delivered something different in this movie too. How she captures emotions through her eyes and acting deserves a special mention. On the other hand, Namit Das, who has no dialogues in the movie, has impressed us with his gestures and expressions. Deepak Dobriyal and Amit Sial were decent. Vikram Kochhar and Ila Arun had very less to offer but did justice to their roles.

The positive part of the movie is the unique concept, that is, a story of horror with a blend of humour and fairytale elements. Neha, whenever she is present on the screen, demands attention. The background music and songs definitely enhance your viewing experience.

The negative points are the execution and screenplay. It is a good idea but with a very weak execution. The screenplay looks scattered, and at a few points, your interest level may go down. Unfortunately, Deepak Dobriyal has very few dialogues in the movie and that's a big downfall. There are many scenes in the movie that lack conviction.

Having said this, this Neha Sharma starrer is a strictly average watch.

Team Telly Chakkar goes with 2.5/5 for Aafat-e-Ishq.
