MUMBAI: Sandhya Kute in this exclusive interview with Tellychakkar.com talks about her upcoming web series Mombian – Gul & Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story. She then speaks about her character, what made her say yes to the project, and her experience of working with Rohit Shetty.
Tell us about your character in the web series
I am playing a counselor in this web series. Nowadays, people have become very busy in their personal lives. Earlier people used to interact with their parents and friends but now nobody has time. So, people who go through major problems in life, reach out to the counselor who then helps them to solve their problems.
How did you prepare for your role?
Director Deepak and I had a brief talk about my role. There were also several workshops about my character before going on the floor. Director has explained to me very nicely, what my character would look like and how I have to present it.
What made you say yes to the projects?
I like the project very much, especially the concept of single motherhood. Also when I saw that I have a very important part to play in the web series. I have always seen what different my character can bring on-screen. I genuinely felt that this character is different so I said yes to the project.
Your experience of working with Rohit Shetty in Simmba and Singham Returns?
I started working with Rohit Shetty from Singham Returns. He always remembers the actors with whom he has worked before. If he has any character which suits an actor's caliber then he definitely cast them in his next project. He was looking for a character who is simple yet very straightforward. When I came to know about that I sent him a few of my pictures. So after seeing my pictures, he immediately remembered that he had worked with me in Singham Returns. He then told his crew to finalized me for Simmba’s role. And that's how I landed in that film.
