MUMBAI: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed their first child last month. Dr Madhu Chopra, the happy grandmother, recently shared her joy as she spoke with paparazzi.
Priyanka and Nick welcomed their first child via surrogacy in January. While the couple is yet to reveal the gender of the child, her cousin Meera Chopra said that they the couple has a daughter.
Recently, Priyanka's mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra shared that the couple has not yet decided the name of their baby. On February 26, Madhu celebrated 14 years of her cosmetic clinic. On this occasion, she said, "Nani bane toh bahut bahut khushi hui mujhe (I was so happy to become a grandmother). I am only smiling all the time. I'm very happy." She also went on to reveal whether Priyanka and Nick have named the baby.
She said, "Abhi nahi rakha hai. Jab pandit naam nikaalege tab hoga. Abhi nahi" (We haven't finalised it yet. When the priest gives us the name, then it will happen. Not now).
The actress, 39, and the musician, 29, tied the knot in two glamorous ceremonies at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, in front of 225 guests.
While the happy couple first wed in Jodhpur, they had two ceremonies over the course of five days — one Hindu and one Christian — to honor each of their cultures, which they blended during each celebration.
The actress has received numerous accolades, including National Film Awards and Filmfare Awards. In 2016, the Government of India honoured her with the Padma Shri, and Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world, and in the next two years, Forbes listed her among the World's 100 Most Powerful Women.
