MUMBAI: Reyhna Malhotra is known for playing negative in television shows. The actress has played antagonist in shows like Jamai Raja, Ishqbaaaz, Dil Boley Oberoi, Mannmohini and currently playing the negative role as Aliya in Zee TV’s top-rated show Kumkum Bhagya.
TellyChakkar got in touch with the actress who spoke briefly about the show, her dream role, Bigg Boss and more. Read on!
How much do you enjoy being a part of Kumkum Bhagya? “It's really good, and even though the TRP doesn't matter, it does motivate us to do even better. We miss the energy that used to be there before, but the people who are around now make it very fun.”
Do you ever feel that you want to do something different than your current role in Kumkum Bhagya? Some other show with shorter commitments? “Of course, I don't mind doing another character simultaneously. But I want to focus on the character that I have in hand right now. So, I'm making the most of it.”
Are you not tired of playing negative roles? “I played a positive role in Mannmohini, even though her ways were wrong but all she did was for love. I don't miss playing a positive character because as an actor I'm not biased. Having said that, I am waiting for different kinds of roles to come my way.
How much are you open to taking mythological or historical shows? It depends on the role. I don’t mind experimenting.”
What kind of roles do you look forward to playing? “I would love to do a role of a cop which would involve a lot of action and stunts. I think I'm good at doing stunts and I would like to go out of the box.”
Do you wish to do any reality shows like Big Boss? “If it offers a lot of money, I would definitely be doing it because it requires a lot of guts and emotional strength. Also, reality shows are very unpredictable so it's a big risk.”
