In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar,
Rithvik Dhanjani spoke about why he said yes to the project, love, and more.

1. This is fairly a new genre for you. Surely, the character that you play had to be one of the reasons but what was the main hook point for you in Arranged that you said yes to the project?

For me, it is very simple. I realized over the years that I want to work with people who inspire me. I want to work with people who make me want to learn something new. The moment I read the script, I could see Sharanya Raj Gopal's heart and soul in it and how honestly she wanted to communicate a story. It is not very complicated but very simple and sweet.without saying too much, she said what was needed to. When I read the script the first time, it spoke to me in a way that I could visualize the whole thing. I was really touched by the message and I just wanted to be a part of it. And my decision solidified when I spoke to Sharanaya and Ritesh. My belief in the story, especially when they spoke about their craft, made me fall in love with the process.

2. In a time when the concept of dating revolves around right and left swipes, this is a story titled Arranged. Were there any moments while making this film that were your personal favorites?

There are quite a few actually. There is one particular moment involving Raju Kher sir. Raju Sir plays Richa's father. He is a joy to be around and he is very chirpy on the sets. Our scenes are great together, but one of my favorite moments on set is that when my scene was over, I stayed back to watch Tridha's scene. I was standing with Ritesh and Raju Sir was himself in that scene. Tridha is ironing the clothes and she is at it and totally focused. There were times when I thought she is going to burn the clothes. I think those were my special memories when I got to see my fellow actors at work from behind the camera.

3. Do you believe in arranged marriages or are you more inclined towards new-age dating ideas of right and left swipes?

I am definitely not the new age or swipe kind of a guy. I still very much believe in the old school form of love. In fact, I am very old school when it comes to romance, and even my approach to dating is like that. Even meeting is something I think is very essential because I don't like chatting. I don't text because I feel texting is a really lazy form of communication. I think calls are better, and texts are misinterpreted. I do have experience in that. I think it is much better to talk or meet in person so that I can get to know them and they get to know me. That is much better than reading it somewhere on a bio. We are not trying to buy sweets off a shop, where we can just trade in and out. I still believe in romance in its purest form, so I am definitely not a dating-app guy.
