MUMBAI: Darshan Kumar is no doubt one of the most talented actors we have in Bollywood. He is currently getting an amazing response for his recently released movie, The Kashmir Files, which has been directed by Vivek Agnihotri.
In an exclusive interaction with TellyChakkar, Darshan Kumar spoke in detail about his experience of shooting the movie and about his character preparation.
Darshan Kumar on the shooting experience
Darshan Kumar says that it was an emotional rollercoaster ride. He says it was quite a challenging role emotionally, mentally, and physically. Darshan says that no doubt the movie is getting an amazing response. He would like to thank the audience for giving a great response to the movie, and he is happy that the story has reached the maximum number of people.
Darshan Kumar on how he was offered this character
Darshan Kumar said when he got a call from the casting department for this movie, he did not know what he was getting offered. When he met Pallavi and Vivek Agnihotri, they showed him a few videos on the Kashmiri Pandits and the issues faced by them. He did not have the words to describe how he felt. He did not know about the subject and wanted to tell this story to every Indian so that nothing like this happens in the future with any community.
Darshan Kumar on his character preparation
Darshan Kumar says that he has seen every possible video available on the public domain. As an actor he wanted to feel the pain and understand the backstory of his character. He tried to live this character. There were a few scenes that were very difficult to shoot. For example, the team had to pack up after shooting the climax scene and had to take long breaks in between the shoot because it was an emotional journey not only for him but for everyone.
