MUMBAI: Owing to its intriguing and gripping plot, Colors TV's new serial Fanaa - Ishq Mein Marjawan, which was launched just a few months ago, is gaining a lot of attention. Zain Imam and Reem Shaikh play the lead roles of Agasthaya and Paakhi, respectively, while Akshit Sukhija plays Paakhi's love interest, Ishaan. The show is based on the lines of the movie Darr. However, the entire concept hasn't been taken from the movie. Fanaa is produced by Gul Khan under the banner of 4 Lions Production.

In an exclusive interaction with TellyChakkar, Akshit Sukhija aka Dr Ishaan Tandon spilled the beans on how he prepared for the role of Ishaan and about working with Zain and Reem!

Tell us about how you prepared for the role of Dr. Ishaan Tandon.

Well, before essaying the role of Dr. Ishaan Tandon, I did a lot of research. I watched a few episodes of Korean dramas. My focus was to show how the character is positive and negative. The basic idea was to show a contrasting role to all.

Any challenges faced by you?

So, basically, Reem and Zain are known in the industry and have more of a fan following than I do, so I did not want people to feel that Ishaan has no reach in terms of audience. My only motive was that I need to give it my all. But as far as big challenges are concerned as an actor, I haven’t had any as such. One good thing that happened was that I surprised myself and my team with my dancing skills in a sequence. I do not consider myself a good dancer.

Tell us about the bond you share with Reem and Zain.

Before the show, I was quite nervous, but soon,I realized that they are very sweet. I had developed a misconception about them. We eat together on the sets, keep chatting, and pull each other’s leg. It is fun to work with them. I feel lucky to work to have them as my co-actors.
