MUMBAI: A day back Kochi City police tightened the net around Malayalam actor-producer Vijay Babu, accused in two cases including rape, by issuing a lookout circular against him. He has approached the Kerala High Court, today, April 29 seeking anticipatory bail against the charge of sexual assault.
As per reports, after police issued lookout notice against the actor-producer, he has approached the Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail.

The report added that a complaint was registered against the actor-producer with the Ernakulam police. The actor, on his part, had hosted a Facebook live, denying all allegations of rape against him.
However, he did reveal the complainant's name, which led to further backlash and a new case being registered under IPC Section 228A (disclosure of identity of the victim in certain offences) against him.

The actor has been on run ever since the lookout notice was issued against him. Official sources had said, "We have also issued a summons directing him to appear before the investigation officer in connection with the probe. If he fails to turn up within the specified time, we will be taking further steps to list him as wanted."
In his bail application moved through Advocate S Rajeev, Vijay Babu stated that he did an advertisement for the Kerala Police where the complainant was his co-star. He stated that she has been contacting him frequently, seeking opportunities in the Malayalam movie industry, where he kept on explaining he has no role in casting. According to him, the complainant is trying to blackmail him by filing a false case.
