We all know that Anurag Basu is making a Kishore Kumar biopic and is busy scripting for the same. But come what may Basu will not be able to roll the film before April next year (2014) as his leading man Ranbir Kapoor has a packed schedule till then.
But the director has decided to not let the time go by with nothing productive. He has decided to turn producer under his banner Ishana Movies and make a sequel of Life In A Metro. But he will not helm it. Instead, he has approached his good friend Onir to direct it. It is said that Basu met Onir at the Goa Film Festival and talked about his plan. The film will start rolling by the end of this year.
The friendship of Basu and Onir goes bang a long way. Though a reputed director having made films like Gangster, Metro and Kites then, Basu charged a meager Rs.500 to turn actor in Onir's film I Am made in 2010.
This was perhaps the first time that the Barfi director applied make-up before he faced the camera.
The film, I Am, with its four stories that deal with social issues like child abuse, homosexuality and Maoist crisis, also starred Anurag Kashyap and Nandita Das in pivotal roles.
