Shootout at Wadala will now release on 3 May

The release of White Feather Films and Balaji Telefilms’ Shootout at Wadala has been postponed to 3 May (2013). The action crime drama, directed by Sanjay Gupta, is the prequel to 2007 hit film Shootout at Lokhandwala and is based on the book Dongri to Dubai. The film dramatises the first-ever registered encounter by Mumbai police, where gangster Manya Surve (played by John Abraham) was shot dead at Wadala in 1982. Earlier, the film was scheduled to release on 7 December last year, but back then, it was pushed to 25 January this year to avoid a clash with Aamir Khan's Talaash that released on 30 November. The makers then announced that the film will release on 1 May which happens to be International Worker's Day and Labour Day in India. But now the movie will finally hit screens on 3 May. The film also features Anil Kapoor as a police officer, Kangna Ranaut as John's love interest and Tusshar Kapoor and Sonu Sood as gangsters, among others.
