Kunaal Roy Kapur out to redefine comedy

Kunaal Roy Kapur
Kunaal Roy Kapur is soon turning into one actor that the industry can’t do without. After dazzling in Delhi Belly with his remarkable performance, the one film old Kunaal managed to bag the co-lead with Ayushman Khurana in the recently released Nautanki Saala in which the verdict unanimously went in his favour of him from his fans and critics alike. Because of his straight face, humour and impeccable timing, the actor has managed to carve a niche for himself which is making him the pick of the town for roles with certain quirkiness. After Delhi Belly’s huge success, Kunal Roy Kapur and Vir Das will once again be seen in Kabir Sadanand's tentatively titled film Gollu Aur Pappu. Admitting that this film would be different from Delhi Belly, Kunal avers, "It is going to be a family comedy unlike Delhi Belly that was an adult comedy. It is a bro-mance that hopefully people especially kids will like it." Choosing not to divulge too much about the film, the young actor goes on toad, "People know me for my comic timings. Hence most of the roles offered to me are in the comic space. But, I don't want to limit myself; I would take up any interesting role that comes my way. The script is of prime importance, so if the script is interesting, I will agree to do the film." Producers Viacom 18 has refrained from letting the names of the leading ladies to come out and will be making the announcement shortly in this regard. Meanwhile, Kunal will be soon be seen doing a cameo in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani that releases on 31 May (2013). On a different front, Kunal is busy finalizing the cast of his directorial debut. The project is supposed to be a dark comedy set in Mumbai and will have a social message to it. The film will go on the floors by the end of this year.
