Nikhil Advani's D-Day being readied for release on 19 July

DAR Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment Private Limited’s Nikhil Advani-directed D-Day is being geared to release on 19 July (2013). The filmmaker attributes his inspiration to be the extraction of Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, a move that instigated a real chatter all around the country on the matter of the perceived inaction of our government in bringing to justice known perpetrators of various heinous crimes and terrorist acts. D-Day is the story of the recruitment of IAF officer Rudra Pratap Singh (Arjun Rampal), RAW Explosives expert Zoya Rehman (Huma Qureshi) and Aslam (Akash Dhaiya) a petty thief from the streets of Mumbai by RAW who later infiltrate to Pakistan to join Wali Khan (Irrfan Khan) who was sent to report the activities of the Most Wanted Man in India and carry out the mission to bring back the dreaded man, who was going to break all ISI protocol and security and attend his own sons wedding. The man who could on that day be abducted and brought back to India to face justice. Everything went according to plan until it all failed. The team sent in to bring The Most Wanted Man in India did the unthinkable; they carried out the most daring operation and almost got away with it. An out-an-out action film, Advani, in his intention that only the best will train Arjun Rampal and Irrfan Khan, roped in Tom Strutters, one of the world's best action directors who has films like The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises and Inception to his credit. Defining the action in the film and his experience doing the stunts, Rampal says, "The action in the film was defined to us. The action scenes that Irrfan and I have done in D Day are very realistic. You don't know what's happening and don't know what it really is, but it's in the film. It's given us a great technique of fighting and great scope too. I'm big on action and D Day gave me that opportunity". The film also stars Rishi Kapoor and Shruti Haasan in lead roles.
