MUMBAI : Anupamaa is currently ruling our television screen and winning hearts all over.
Madalsa Sharma is currently portraying the role of Kavya in Star Plus’ Anupamaa, which is her television debut.
She made her acting debut in the 2009 Telugu film Fitting master. She went on to do various south Indian films post that. Her maiden Bollywood film Angel, by choreographer Ganesh Acharya released in 2011 and she received a lot of praise for her performance. Later in 2014, her second Hindi film, Sooraj Barjatya Rajshri Productions' Samrat & Co. released.
Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actress and got to know interesting insights.
What is more to come for your character Kavya in the show?
“In the midst of all that is going on, Kavya is very supportive of Anupama taking a stand for whatever that is happening. As a woman, Kavya has been an independent, self-made girl. No family of hers has been shown in the plot, she has always been on her own and now she is a part of the Shah family. So her priority is the family but she also comes from a place where she has always taken care of herself. She wishes to make a change and while Anupama is doing something like that, she supports her. Kavya is a headstrong girl herself and she has seen the realities of life. She will not leave any stone unturned if she can be a part of anything that can bring a good change.”

Will we get to see a Kavya or a Kavya-Vanraj-centric track soon?
“Yes of course. The writers have been working on various tracks at the moment and this is also one of the tracks that are being worked on. The audience loves Kavya and Vanraj so the audience is going to see it pretty soon and we also enjoy our moments in the show. In a daily soap, it is not easy to give entertainment to the audience 24*7 now that the show is on 7 days a week. There are so many tracks to be thought and written about. We have such a huge cast, our story is not running behind just one or two people. Everybody has to be kept in mind and the writers are doing a brilliant job. So I am very sure that it is not a long wait now and the audience is going to see Vanraj and Kavya's track soon.”
The TRPs have been the highest ever since the show began. Do you feel a sense of pressure that you need to maintain?
“It is a pressure for sure on the makers, the directors, and the producers. There is constant pressure because there is so much competition all around. But we are actors and if I talk about myself, more than pressure, I take this as a challenge because whatever comes my way, I have to give in my 100% to all the scenes that I get daily, I have to do my best daily. On the whole, it is a team effort and it is being pulled off well till now. I hope it continues like this in the future as well.”
