How do you define ‘time’? Oxforddictionaries.com defines ‘time’ as ‘the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole’.
The concept of ‘time’ goes far beyond this definition. Both historians and philosophers have time and time again, tried to understand the concept of time. Throughout the ages people have repeatedly debated over this. Is time cyclical or linear? Did God start time or does He exist beyond time?
Scientist Albert Einstein combined space in a four dimensional object called space time. He theorised that travelling through time is indeed possible. H.G.Wells’ classic novel The Time Machine popularised of the concept of time travel using a machine that permits an operator to travel purposefully and selectively.
As we write this article it is 7 June 2013, 3pm IST. Are we not curious to know what lies ahead, even if it is a day later? Would we not like to relive history by being present in a historical era in three dimensional forms instead of just reading history books?
Your favourite TV actors would love to avail of a time machine. We asked them to which era and place they would like to go to.
