MUMBAI :Amol Parashar has been a part of many movies and web series. The actor last year impressed everyone with his performance in the Tripling season 3 and he has been doing some excellent work on OTT.
TellyChakkar recently did a Round Table session with Gulshan Devaiah, Aahana Kumra, Amruta Subhash, Amol Parashar, and Naveen Kasturia.
While talking to us about the characters that he felt difficult to justify, Amol said, “I get nervous always; for the first 3-4 days you don’t understand what you are doing. Easy-looking things make me more nervous. If you give me strong motivation and strong characteristics, then you can imagine a strong person, at least I find that easier, but of course, nervousness is there. But, then sometimes some people say ‘just be yourself’ and then you have to think ‘who is me?’. If that person is telling me to ‘be yourself’ then what has he seen in me? So, that becomes very complicated.”

“For the third season, I was not nervous, but for the first season, I had sleepless nights. I had a lot of pressure because of that character, what have I got in life and how will I justify it? I was doing comedy for the first time. During the narration, everyone was laughing, and they were saying ‘it’s super hit, and Amol you don’t f**k it up’. They were telling me with love, but you know that if something goes wrong it’s because of you as it has been declared as a super hit. In season 2, I had become like Sehwag, that I am on the front foot,” he added.
In 2021, Amol was seen in Shoojit Sircar’s Sardar Udham. While the titular role was played by Vicky Kaushal, Amol played a very pivotal role in the movie; he was seen as Bhagat Singh.
He further revealed, “Another role that I was very nervous about was of Bhagat Singh. I was like why did they take me and why did they think of me in a character like this? I never saw it and imagined myself as Bhagat Singh. We have grown up watching Ajay Devgn and Sonu Sood as Bhagat Singh; they are the popular image of him. In the first meeting itself, Shoojit sir told me you are not a freedom fighter, I am not going to shoot you like that; there won't be ‘Mera rang de Basanti chola’. So, forget all the films that you have seen.”
“In the first meeting, I had gone thinking that they would reject me. But, they were fully convinced, and then I did the look test and I was like this person has already imagined me like that. They had already cast me before we did a look test. I was very nervous ke log mujhpe patthar na maarde. In certain parts of the country he is like god, they sing songs and bhajans for Bhagat Singh. It was a six-day shoot, and it was a beautiful experience,” he added.
