Anurag Kashyap's upcoming venture Bombay Velvet, that stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, would be made in three parts.
Detailed Kashyap, "It's true that Bombay Velvet is just one film from the trilogy. But first, let's see how it does. Only then we will take a call on the other two parts. Anyway, it's too early to talk about it. Right now, I am only concentrating on the first part." The shooting for the first part is expected to go on floors in July.
Kashyap has further said that he will think about the other two parts only after the release of the first part. The first part of the flick reportedly will portray the Mumbai city in 50s and 70s era. The next two parts will showcase the transformation of Mumbai to a metropolitan city.
The film is to be based on historian Gyan Prakash's book Mumbai Fables. Interestingly, the book and the script have been written simultaneously.
Averred Kashyap, "I happened to meet Gyan before the book was published and when he told me about the story, I was fascinated. I never thought Bombay (Mumbai) had such a history. And so, Gyan wrote the book while simultaneously penning the script for the parallel adaptation.”
The film is likely to be released during the Christmas festivity this year (2013).
