UTV Motion Pictures is all set remake Raj Kumar Gupta's Rajiv Khandelwal-starrer Aamir in Tamil. It will be directed by debutant Anand Krishna while the lead role essayed by Khandelwal in the original will be reprised by Vidarth who was earlier seen in Mynaa.
"We are excited to bring a remake of our first UTV Spotboy release Aamir and which also started our successful association with Raj Kumar Gupta and Amit Trivedi. We have also remade 'A Wednesday' in the past in Tamil and Telugu and have witnessed that great content finds its way to the audiences hearts," said film producer and CEO of UTV Motion Pictures Siddharth Roy Kapoor.
Gupta, who is currently giving finishing touches to his third film Ghanchakkar with UTV after Aamir and No One Killed Jessica, is excited about this development. "I'm really happy to hear that my first film Aamir is now being remade in Tamil. The Tamil audience is very discerning and I'm confident that the Tamil remake of my first film, which was a great story, will garner as much acclaim as its Hindi version," he averred.
Meanwhile, Gupta has decided to turn producer with his romantic film Rapchick Romance. The film, that is expected to go on the floors soon, will be co-produced by Gupta and UTV.
