MUMBAI: In the past few years, a few Hindi dubbed versions of South movies have done well at the box office. It has become a trend now that whenever a big South film is going to release, it is dubbed in various languages including Hindi and it gets a pan-India release.

Well, the last South biggie that received a pan-India release was Kabzaa. The Upendra starrer became a disaster at the box office in the Hindi markets. The next South movie which is getting a pan-India release is the Telugu movie Dasara.

Dasara stars Nani and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles and it will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Nani has been promoting the film in the Hindi market a lot. He did promotions in Mumbai, Lucknow, and Nagpur, and will also be visiting Delhi for the promotions.

The Hindi dubbed versions of Nani’s movies are very popular on television, and many of you might be thinking that Dasara is actually his first movie to get a pan-India release. But, let us tell you that before Dasara, one more movie of Nani had received a pan-India release.

In 2012, SS Rajamouli directed a movie titled Eega which starred Kichcha Sudeepa, Nani, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. The movie was shot in Telugu (Eega) and Tamil (Naan Ee), and it was dubbed and released in Malayalam (Eecha) and Hindi (Makkhi).

Eega became one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of 2012. But, in Hindi, it had failed to make a mark at the box office.
